Chair Notes – June 2022
by Barbara Berthiaume, Secretary

The Bluebills have been very active this year in spite of the challenges of COVID restrictions. Requests for wheelchair ramps and grab bars have overwhelmed the Builders and they are sending out an SOS for volunteers to step forward to help with the backlog. Wheel chair ramp and grab bar recipients have sent heartfelt notes and messages to let us know what a positive impact the Bluebills have made in their lives. Essential Supplies volunteers continue to make monthly trips to World Vision and distribute goods across the Peninsula to a number of nonprofits. I was visiting one of the agencies when the Bluebills were making a delivery. Someone announced that the Bluebills were there and there was a flurry of activity followed by comments of appreciation for the Bluebills
The Cash for Gold event to raise money for STEM programs takes place Saturday, June 25th at the Beach Club and the Dove House Golf Benefit already has over 40 golfers and a number of Major Sponsors, Tee Spon- sors, and Raffle donations. The second half of 2022 will be even busier than the past 5 months.
The Bluebills need more volunteers to keep our programs running. If you have a neighbor or friend who may be looking for a worthwhile and satisfying program to get involved with, invite them to get involved! Cal Williams has the membership application forms that he is happy to send out.
